Is it true that Marx modeled communism based on Feuervach Model of Christianity? Answer: Yes. Feuervach's model of Christianity was set up showing a separation between Deity and the People. The people then become trapped in a never ending cycle of trying to obtain something that is basically unobtainable in this life. E.G. Eternal life in heaven. Marx set up communism the exact same way, creating separation between government and the people. E.g wealth was unobtainable. |

How Lenin did NOT follow the Communist model provided by Karl Marx?? Question: I need at least 3 detailed ways Answer: Both of the previous two users are wrong and Lenin did in fact follow Marx's theories. The theoretical model Lenin created, which can be found in "The State and Revolution," was taken nearly word for word from Marx and Engels. Fortis' answer is nothing but the rant of an ignorant philistine, as will be shown shortly. Coyote13 seems to be taking the Stalinist argument against "Trotskyism," a term used to attack Marxism-Leninism without doing it openly. Lenin did not skip any steps in socialist development, which I also plan to describe shortly. Coyote13's second point is simply an absurdity; the Bolsheviks had the support of the people, and it was the people who took to the streets in October of 1917 to take control of Russia from Kerensky's government. This was an easy task and the proletariat met with little resistance while taking power because the Bolsheviks had earned the support of the workers, while Kerensky (as well as the Mensheviks and SRs through their support of Kerensky) lost favor through his opportunistic policies. There was no Red Army in 1917; there was no Bolshevik army; the only people who could have carried out the October Revolution was the proletariat. Using Marx's theories and concepts, Lenin created a system in which people had direct control over their government. This control took the shape of the soviet. A soviet is both a legislative and executive body, chosen through universal suffrage. Soviets would help the people realize the dictatorship of the proletariat, but Lenin also addressed the peasant question, in a very Marxist manner. The peasant would play a supporting role to the proletariat through the creation of "non-party workers' and peasants' conferences" which the Bolsheviks would "strive by every means to support, develop, and extend these institutions in order to be able to watch the sentiments of the masses, to come closer to them, to respond to their requirements, etc." The Bolsheviks did not have to force their influence upon the proletariat; the working class supported the Bolsheviks, because the workers knew, through their own experiences, that the Bolsheviks were correct. The revolutionary movement was decades old, and the Bolsheviks emerged as leaders, in the manner that Marx described; not through force but through guidance. Lenin did not seek to skip over any historical steps on the road to socialism. Lenin writes, "We can (and must) begin to build Socialism not with imaginary human material, not with human material invented by us, but with the human material bequeathed to us by capitalism." Lenin also states that it may be easier for Russia "to start a Socialist revolution, but it will be more difficult for Russia than for the European countries to continue it and consummate it." Following Marx, Lenin knew what the Soviet Union needed to do to carry out a Socialist revolution, which was to begin the democratic dictatorship in 1918, which included the Mensheviks and SRs. Lenin also knew, through Marx, that the Socialist revolution could not achieve victory without the success of the International revolution. The International revolution, which Lenin believed at the time was forthcoming following World War I, would enable Russia to industrialize at a much quicker rate. It was in fact the failures of men like Karl Kautsky, who altered, rejected, and betrayed Marxism, who are responsible for the failures of the international revolution. These men, when it came time to realize the revolution in their own countries, embraced nationalism and the bourgeoisie, condemning the proletariat to further oppression. It is irrational to suggest a class or group can come to power without a political party to guide it. For this reason, a class or group can also be led astray. Do not fall into the trap that Lenin did not follow Marx. Stalin did not follow Marx, which anyone can plainly see by Stalin's idea of "socialism in one country" which would be the antithesis of the international revolution, supported by Lenin and Marx. Also remember that Lenin suffered a stroke in 1922, a second stroke in 1923, and then died in January 1924. He did not have the time to see his ideas bloom. Revolution, no matter the type, does not cure all social ills immediately. Lenin even warns people against that belief, a belief that Stalin actually uses to come to power. |

Would Marx and Engels have approved of the Soviet Communist model? Answer: I believe they would have endorsed Leninism, but not Stalinism. Stalinism as we can see was a complete reversal of the Revolution (aka Reaction) in which the Bureaucracy took power from the Soviets (Workers' Councils) and used it to improve their standard of living at the expense of the majority. This largely occurred because of the situation in which the Revolution occurred (In Semi-Feudal and poor country which did not have the means to support its population or industry) |

How to remove a motor from an old Marx "666" Electric Engine / Model Train? Question: This is my father's old engine he was given as a little boy. Long story short, wanted one bad...parents didn't have alot of money...told him wouldn't happen. He prayed, asked Santa, and everyone else for it. Finally at the end of Christmas Eve...his Grandpa and Dad take him into his Dad's office, and there was a full Marx train set already setup. Greatest gift my father ever received. Well the Marx motor has been replaced once before. 8/9 years ago it failed again. This was before Ebay and everything else and the shop he took it to said that the engine was a lost cause. Needed a new motor and finding a motor and installing would cost more than the engine is worth. He gave up on it. Well, I didn't. I found several Marx 666 motors on ebay, currently bidding on one. Plan to do a motor swap and new paint job on the engine. Granted, paint will ruin the value, but not doing it to sell, doing it for the old man. Any ideas, tips, pointers, instructions on removing the motor from the shell? I am going to get started to day after work. Answer: I'd send it to someone like Caboose Hobbies in Denver and have their excellent repair shop make sure your old man will be delighted with the result. |

Why did John McCain imply that Karl Marx is in hell? Question: While on the stump John McCain implying that Fidel Castro will go to hell said that he can meet Karl Marx there. I am not offended or anything. I just thought it was pretty funny that he assumed that a theorist would go to hell for simply developing an economic model. Is God a capitalist? Marx wasn't alive when these dictators killed people. His theories never said to kill anyone. Answer: because of socialism millions of people were condemned to the ravages of poverty, and had their spirit of self and self accomplishment stripped Hey Raul: If you think neocons are worse than Castro, perhaps you need to flee to Cuba, and leave your boat so 30 cubans can escape back here to the land of neocons. |
