Are Japanese "Pro Z" Model Trains Compatible With Marklin & Micro-Trains? Question: Hi Folks, Will Japanese Tokyo Marui "Pro Z" model trains operate on Marklin z-scale track using a Marklin transformer? Will Marklin and Micro-Trains equipment operate on the "Pro Z" modular z-scale layout? I don't care if the couplers are not compatible. Here are 2 eBay auctions (which do not address compatibility): 120364420697 200310194327 Anyone bought any of these Japanese trains or the layout? Do they work well? Thanks! - Paul Answer: There are some differences. The Pro-Z trains use a custom power supply that allows the illuminated passenger coaches to work; they may not light up right with a Marklin power supply. Conversely, the Pro Z power supply may cause Micro-Trains and Marklin locos to run strangely because of the power for the lighting. It should not cause harm, but it might cause humming, and locos may run warmer than normal. Although you said couplers don't matter, just to set the record straight, Marklin, Micro-Trains and Pro-Z all use different couplers that are not compatible. |

Who is the better model train engine maker? Kato or Atlas? Is Micro-Train decent for rolling stock & track? Question: I am looking to purchase a starter "set" that is packaged with either an Atlas or Kato engine, and a matching caboose, 3 pieces of rolling stock and a track starter pack all by Micro-Trains. Is this something that someone who is interested in building a collection would consider a decent starting point or should I just get them a gift certificate? Answer: If this is their first set either one should be ok. You didn't specify the scale but I'm guessing that it's either N or Ho. I've had Atlas engines in both scales and there are fine machines. I've had Kato in N scale and they are good too. Micro Trains makes some nice rolling stock. I have quite a bit of it and I'm very impressed with it. I would recommend getting something that is DCC capable if you think this is going to become a hobby. This is a remote control system that most hobbiests switch too when they begin building a layout. Another thing to consider is what is the intended recipients railroad interests. Do they have a favorite railroad, do they prefer diesel or steam, what sort of railroad influences do they have in their life. What are the local railroads in the area. My personal tastes are The Southern Railroad in the early 50's but I also collect other southeastern railroads equipment of the same era. Most family members would not attempt to buy me a train gift because of this. However my wife has nailed it a couple of times particularly with books on related subjects. I hope I'm not turning you away from the idea because there's nothing like a running train as a gift particullarly set up and running. If you want a few add ons throw in a copy of Modelrailroader and a gift certificate for a couple of extra freight cars. It's a hobby that can last a lifetime. Good luck and hope this helps. |

How to create a micro-gravity condition to train the astronauat in the earth? Question: What is the basic theory? How many G could be generated? Answer: There are two methods I personally know of. One is the so called "Vomit Comet" which is a boeing jet that is specifically tailored with padding inside the fuselage. The plane takes successive up and down flights to give the feeling of free fall for about 20-30 seconds. The idea behind this is that you are falling to earth at the same speed as the plane, just like sky diving. The other method is the HUGE water tank that is the most common method used to train the astronauts in activities that will be performed in space like installing new equipment during space walks. They perform this with full suits and actually submerge the machinery and mock ups into the tank and practice in a weightless environment. |

Do you have to take out micro braids for basic training? Question: I'm leaving for AF BMT on the 23rd of this month. I'm planning to get micro braids or individuals, but people have told me that they have heard of people having to take their micro braids out. Is this the case, are micro braids not allowed at BMT? And if they are, why would people have to take them out?? Please no bull-crap answers!! =) [THANX] Answer: cornrows yes.. braids, no. and they must be secured with plain rubber bands the same color as your hair, no beads or other decoration. the reason they come out is standards..everybody gets to be treated the same and they will cut your hair to meet their standards. this assumes you are an AA female.. as those are the only ones allowed cornrows. after BMT braids will be permitted as long as you can secure them properly above the collar and they won't interefere with yoru headgear. |

Pet-safe yard and park Remote Trainer or Innotek UltraSmart Micro Remote Dog Training Collar? Question: I am considering purchasing a remote training collar for my dog. Mostly to teach her to come on command, even when she's distracted. If you have had experience with either of these two particular brands, please leave me some feed back Thanks! Answer: Pet-Safe is the short cut brand - cheap but not very long lasting. Innotek is one of the two top brands (the other which I believe to be superior is Tri-Tronics). |

HAs anyone tried the METT software (Micro Expression Training Tool) and does it work.? Question: So after the breakout of the infamous show Lie to me. I started some research on Paul Ekman and his work in micro expression research. And i came accross the METT software and i was wondering if anybody could give a good review on it or reccomen or condemn this product. Answer: I know what you mean, but...I doubt you need it. Watching movies scence by scene, first at normal speed, then in slow can help you spot things like micro expressions etc. Even actors can't hide their emotions all the time. Also your friends. Actually, maybe you have better friends than I had...but most of my so called friends are extremely manipulative. I have known this for a while. But if you actually watch for it, you can tell specifically when they are lying or when they are manipulating you. It's fun. :) Personally I wouldn't try any software unless you are sure about it. JUst by asking this question, you show you aren't. So, try just being observant and then, if you still want to buy it, get it then. |

minimum Initial investment for forex in micro account? Question: I want to start using forex (i have trained a lot on simulators), but now i would like to have a go at the real market. I know you can open micro accounts for as little as $50, but what do you think is the minimum amount of money you should put into your first micro account for some good training/practice, and maybe even some profit. Answer: $50.00 is not much to start out with, even trading micro lots. It can be done, if you dont make the slightest mistake. Trade 0.01 lots on a micro. Will only be pennies that you win and lose, but it's a start. |

can women wear braids or micro braids in air force basic training? Question: I been looking around on the internet and some sites say they are allowed and others say they are not allowed. So can someone who knows for sure please let me kno. Thanks. Answer: If you are black most likely if you are white than no. I'm not sure what micro braids are....Just really small braids? Well when I was in basic we had several black girls with braids, but one girl had to take hers out because hers were to big (they were REALLY big though) and she could not fit her head gear on. And the reason I'm saying the black vs. white thing, is because you CANNOT have "fad haircuts" but if you are black, it is not considered a fad haircut. and about the rule for length: It cannot touch the botton of the collor if worn DOWN, but it can be any length even in braids and be worn up in a bun.... I wish people would clarify their own answers. |
