When you applying for college, which GPA Scale do they use? Is it the one from you HS or a certain standard? Question: I go to a HS that according to Newsweek, is in the top 0.65%. That's right, 0.65% and it's extremely difficult to be the top 10% for the class rank. When you go do college do they take the consider how competitive your HS is? Also, do they have a certain standard scale for the GPA or do they just use the GPA you receive from your HS? Answer: Use the GPA from your school. The colleges are aware of the reputation of the high school that you attend. They also check into the grade school that your school uses. Some schools use a 5.0 scale while others use a 4.0 scale. A student who gets a 3.8 on a 4.0 scale is not quite the same as the kid who has a 3.8 on a 5.0 scale. Don't worry about it; they will know that your high school has a high ranking. |

What are the standard keyboard minor scale fingerings? Question: I need to know the STANDARD fingerings for both hands playing minor scales- it would be nice if answers could cite a method book or other reference. Please use '1' for the thumb, '2' for the index finger, '3' for the middle finger and so on. If you don't know all the scales, even just a few would be fine. Any 'rules' for certain scales or groups of scales (such as 'in the major scales A-flat through B-flat, the right hand fourth finger always lands on B-flat, and left hand fourth finger always lands on the fourth degree of the scale') would be greatly appreciated as well. Please do not note any fingerings other than the ones considered 'standard', as noted by any method book from the U.S., U.K. or France. Answer: It depends on the key. The reason for the differences in fingering in different keys is because you generally do not want to play a black note with the thumb when playing scales. Here is a link to proper fingering for playing the scales in various keys. http://www.audiblefaith.com/artists/rharrell/music/piano scales.html |

How much does a standard scale electric bass guitar weigh? Question: I am getting an epiphone SG EB-3 bass. I have heard that it's pretty heavy. I keep looking around to see how much it actually weighs but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone actually know and could tell me? Answer: Scale has nothing to do with weight, it is the length of the neck, but actually, SG model anythings are are designed to be VERY light, so don't count on it to crush you when you wear it, it should be roughly 8 lbs |

How is my vision on a 20/20 standard scale if my prescription is -1.75 on both eyes? Question: I want to know how my eyesight is. Because my little niece is 20/50 so i am just curious... Answer: What you want to know is your visual acuity which is measured by what you can see on the eye chart without corrective lenses on. That is a very different measurement than the - 1.75 you need to bring you to 20/20 or better. There is no precise conversion for that , because it is apples and oranges , but that being said , MOST people with a - 1.75 under normal conditions would be around 20/100 to possibly 20/200 Only the Dr. who had you read the chart would have the precise results. |

which better electric guitar type for doing shred technique such as Yngwie Malmsteen. short-scale or standard? Question: i'm using standard-scale electric guitar... but my friend told me for using short-scale if wanna play neoclassical shred technique because it will be easy for playing speed clean, and fast arpegio. really ? Answer: sorry 2 say but ur friend is wrong, unless u mean using a guitar that has small frets??, because if ur frets are smaller its easier to play fast ,(only if u have small fingers) if you want a guitar that is the same "scale" as yngwie, just get any fender stratocaster, remmeber its not the guitar ... its the person playing it |
