Would a OO Scale Train fit on Bachmann HO Scale Track?
Question:

Answer:

do OO scale engines go with HO scale track?
Question:
ok I'm watching a british engine OO scale on ebay & i'm wondering if a OO scale steam engine fit on HO scale track? if it does i'll buy it if not then i don't know what to do.... Please help!!!!

Answer:
OO scale is 1/72, and HO is 1/87. The only way for sure is to measure an HO car or engine, from wheel flange to wheel flange. Write the seller and ask if their axle is the same length. The length of the axle is what determines whether or not it will make contact, and run. Also, it's going to be 1/6 larger than your HO cars, and it may look funny.

What size (approx) are windows in a building when modelling in OO/HO Scale?
Question:
Model railways scenery Height of buildings (approx) as well?

Answer:
Hi: the ho scale is 1/87 inch scale or 1 inch equal 87 inches or 1 inch equal 7 1/4 feet for a example a 40 foot by 30 foot by 14 ft high house (a 2 story house) at ho scale is #1 : 1 inch = 7 1/4 feet --------- = ------------- x = 40 40 = 7 1/4x 40/7.25 = x x = 5.51724137931 inches or about 5 1/2 inches long #2 : 1 inch = 7 1/4 feet ---------- = ------------- x = 30 30 = 7 1/ 4 x 30/ 7.25 = x 4.1379310345 inches or 4 1/8 inches wide #3 : 1 inch = 7 1/4 feet --------- = ------------- x = 14 feet 14 = 7 1/4x 14 /7.25 = x 1.9310344828 inches or 1 15/16 inches high and if you had a ho scale car car model that was 1 3/8 inches by 9/16 inch wide and 1 1/8 inches high how big is the real world car Number 1: 1 inch = 7 1/4 feet --------- = ------------- 1 3/8 x 1 3/8 * 7 1/4 = x 9.96875 feet 9 feet 11 5/8 inches long or = x Number 2 : 1 inch = 7.25 feet --------- = ------------ 9/16 x x = 9/16 * 7.25 x = 4.078125 feet or 4 feet and 15/16 inches wide Number 3 : 1 inch = 7 1/4 feet ---------- = -------------- 1 1/8 inch = x x = 1 1/8 * 7.25 x = 8.15625 feet or 8 feet 1 7/8 inches high So the real world car is 9 feet 11 and 5/8 inches long by 4 feet and 15/16 wide by 8 feet and 1 7/8 inches high I hope this helps the OO scale I don't know how many inches in one inch it is but use the above with the OO scale will work the same way Here are some websites that might interest you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_transport_modelling_sca les http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scale_model_sizes http://m odeltrains.about.com/od/modelrailroadtrains/tp/Scales-and-Gauges. htm http://www.csgnetwork.com/modrrscalecalc.html http://ww w.modeltrainbargains.com/scale http://www.thortrains.net/scale 1.htm

HO versus OO Scale Track?
Question:
I was just wondering if HO and OO scale track are the same thing. I want to know if my trains are compatible.

Answer:
The track gauge is the same (for standard gauge track) - which has an odd story attached, as HO scale is 1:87 and OO is 1:76, which means that the track is the correct gauge for HO, but is about 10% too narrow for OO. Why should this be? Early British manufacturers couldn't get the small electric motors of the 1930s to fit into proper HO scale British model trains, so they built the bodies slightly bigger, to OO scale, to fit in the motors. Real British trains are about 10-15% smaller in height and width than their North American or European counterparts, due to the small 'loading gauge' standard chosen by British railway companies 150 years ago. So the track is the same width, and the same 12 volts DC is used to power the trains. Whether the trains are compatible will depend more on whether they have couplers that will work together.

Are oo scale tracks more narrow than Ho scale tracks?
Question:
I'm talking about the spacing in the width of the track

Answer:
OO Scale and HO Scale use the same gauge of tracks: 16.5 mm. So both scales use HO track components. OO Scale is 4.0 mm/foot while HO is 3.5 mm/foot. That makes OO equipment just a wee bit larger.

how do you make a oo scale model railway Smoke machine?
Question:
cheapest way and with stuff i can find round the house

Answer:
If you want something that looks like smoke get cotton balls, stretch them out and paint black. If you want something that really makes smoke I recommend purchasing a small fog machine and mounting it under the table.

I have ben given a OO scale Hornby "Bristol Castle" Model?
Question:
I would like to know how you attach the tender to the engine, all I seem to have is a u shaped piece of metal and plastic I've checked the details and I have all the parts but how does the tender fit to the emgine, I must be thick

Answer:
You may have already tried this, but you can go to the website and look under: Customer Support---Product Service Sheets Then just look for your model. Those files have exploded diagrams and may help you see if you are missing any parts. http://www.hornby.com/customer-support/downloads/service- sheets,103,HAR.html What Model is it on the page? The number?

In Regards to model trains.. what is a OO scale? Is it smaller or larger than an HO scale?

Answer:
Larger than HO. It is the size of the big Lionel trains.

what is the width of a UK "B" road in oo gauge scale?

Answer:
Make it the width you need, for the scenic effect you want. B roads are numbered local routes, which have lower traffic densities than the main trunk roads, or A roads. They are typically short, not usually more than 15 miles. The classification has nothing to do with the width or quality of the physical road, and B roads can range from dual carriageways to single track roads with passing places
