I will say that Tyco products tend to be low end and probably are not worth that much. The Spirit of 76 items may have some collectability but there were a lot of those made so that is also debatable. |

Help with how to install/mount Kadee no. 5 couplers on HO scale tyco operating hopper cars? Question: Hi, I am building my first HO scale model train layout and right now I am in the process of changing all of the couplers on my cars. I have 8 tyco operating hopper cars, but they have different types of trucks. Some of them have a metal truck with a permanently attached draft gear box. I can not get it open to exchange the couplers. Some other hoppers have Bachmann couplers (I think they are called horn hook) that are not magnetic, they just couple themselves when they are forced together. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Answer: do you have an NMRA coupler guage for HO they can be found in your local train shop for most couplers you can open up and replace the old one for a kadee unit but watch the spring inside doesn't go flying set in place and check the height with the guage for those trucks you can't open consider replacing the whole truck with a new one that has a kadee unit in it already most modellers who replace their couplers also reposition the coupler onto the carbody so the truck can freewheel through curves without the twisting that happens with truck mounted ones this will provide a stronger mounting for the coupler and reduce derailments I also reccommend replaceing all trucks and or wheelsets with good quality free rolling ones as most tyco trucks dont roll freely this is an easy thing to find out as a car with free rolling wheels will roll down any non-level track as soon as you put it on if it doesn't roll replace both sets this will reduce the wear on your locomotives and allow you to run longer trains |

Model railroad opinion ? Question: I'm planning my HO scale layout and at a local train show, I picked up a handful of rolling stock. Among them was an old Tyco UP caboose. I didn't notice that it had couplers mounted on the body instead of the trucks. Instead of trying to retrofit normal trucks and couplers onto it, I'm thinking of using it differently. What do you think? Themed diner (End of the Line)? Burned shell in a junkyard? Mobile office at a mine/quarry? Suggestions welcomed! Answer: All those ideas are fine. I'm doing N scale and all of my freights have an end of train device, I call it a caboose. Anyway you can look around online and see what others are doing. Are running them on your trains? I've seen them used as police stations, billboards and yard offices. There was a yard office kit in HO that was around a few years ago, maybe it still is. I would personally do this a little differently. A caboose with a second life is fairly typical on a layout. It's actually IMHO a little cliche. If you run cabooses I would put it at the end of siding with some ladders or workers around it. Like you said before, maybe they could be repairing fire damage or even putting new couplers on it. My philosophy towards layout building is that the railroad runs through the world not that the world runs around the railroad, this means a higher ratio of scenery to track and more scenery that is in no way related to the railroad. It's easier to do in N than it is in HO due to the size constraints. This means no railroad themed businesses, hobby shops, or junkyards full of railroad stuff. But that's just me, I haven't always been like that. I used to be a modular club. At train shows I have been known to take the overdone and do to the extreme. Like the time I had a whole tank battalion surrounding a blinking UFO or the six foot skyscrapers that dwarfed everyone's mountains, or the time when I had fire engines and ambulances already in place at a spot in the track prone to derailments or ..... http://www.flickr.com/photos/22021033@N06/4446201837/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/22021033@N06/4446137043/ http:// www.flickr.com/photos/22021033@N06/2997332909/ http://www.flic kr.com/photos/22021033@N06/3492928646/ http://www.flickr.com/p hotos/22021033@N06/3490571797/ Here's a few out of service cabooses I've run across. Just have fun, when you give it too much thought it quites being a hobby. |

how much is my train collection worth? Question: I just received a large antique train collection, and there are many extra parts that are still in the boxes and some are not assembled. Here is a list: These are still in original boxes and all in great shape: Lionel HO green freight car - says Burlington Northern (X2) Lionel HO green car says P & LE and has barrels inside (number is 42279) Tyco Kit Machine Shop, not assembled 25 pc. no. 7764 Tyco Freight station, not assembled 105 pc. no. 7785 Tyco Grusom Casket, not assembled 146 pc. no. 7784 Tyco 9" straight train track, 4 pc. no. 917 (also says 1975) Unassembled 17 pc Bridge and Trustle set no. 909-109-S SEE-NIKS landscaping accessories, mixed Lichen not opened, no. 3753P Tyco Train Track pieces in box, 1975, Lionel Southern Express 027 Gauge elect. Train Set. no 11123 with headlight and fig 8 tracks. These are in the box, but the boxes are not in great shape: Ayres scale model -HO Timber Trestle, unassembled no. 751 Life Like Light Ups, 2 Exxon lights, no. 01202 Lionel Black car, DOW CHEMICAL - Midland MI, Lionel B&O car, 18408 Chessle System Lionel Blue GRAND TRUNK WESTERN freight car, 88401, wrong box There are many many more trains, tracks and houses/buildings, but have been used. Please if anyone knows about this sort of thing, let me know how much these things might be worth and where I might sell them. Thanks, DJ Answer: At least some of this assembly is not antique. The Exxon name didn't exist until 1973, so that one accessory is no older than that. One Tyco-labeled piece is clearly 1975, and I'm guessing that all of the Tyco is from the same time period. This would place it in the 'vintage' category. My American Flyer trains from the 1940s and '50s do not yet qualify for antique status. Vintage sells for a good deal less than antique, except for particularly rare pieces. As you have model numbers for most of these, they should be relatively easy to search for on eBay. Look at sold prices, not items for sale, where anyone can ask anything. Sold prices only go back as far as 30 days, so you may have to do a search once a week to find more of these pieces. It may be months or longer for some of them. Cars will probably be more common and prices not very high. Unassembled kits in original boxes, not so common, and one of those, if you have two collectors that want it at the same time and get in a bidding war, can do very well. If you have it for sale when no one is looking, you might give it away. This is why you need to take some time to gather price information. It's not something that's just at your fingertips, that anyone here could give you. |

What comic book Batmobile do you like best? Question: Rule: The Bat-Futura does not count because it originated from the TV series. I Like the late 90s model. Tons of gadgets, sleek and fast, fit the role pretty well if you ask me. http://www.batmobilehistory.com/1998-batmobile.jpg Anybod y know where I can find the 2003 Tyco Replica? Don't say Ebay because I looked. It annoys me to no end that recently DC is making a new Batmobile every odd issue or so and never sticking to that model. I know he is a billionaire but don't you think that he should just stick to one car per decade? Answer: My 2 personal favorites are the 1995 model and the 2005 model. |

For instance like below Lyrics: First things first, I poppa, freaks all the honeys Dummies - playboy bunnies, those wantin’ money Those the ones I like ‘cause they don’t get nathan’ But penetration, unless it smells like sanitation Garbage, I turn like doorknobs Heart throb, never, black and ugly as ever However, I stay coochied down to the socks Rings and watch filled with rocks TRANSLATION: As a general rule, I perform deviant sexual acts with women of all kinds, including but not limited to those with limited intellect, nude magazine models, and prostitutes. I particularly enjoy sexual encounters with the latter group as they are generally disappointed in the fact that they only receive penile intercourse and nothing more, unless of course, they douche on a consistent basis.
