Why is it no other manufacturers can reproduce the quality of the Honda inverter generators? Question: Why is it no other manufacturers can reproduce the quality of the Honda inverter generators? I wouldn't think the inverter technology is patentable, yet nobody else seems to be building these hot little sellers. Does anyone else know of a good quality "true" competitor in this market? The models I'm speaking of are like the EU2000i. Answer: "I wouldn't think the inverter technology is patentable" Why not? I would think it is both patentable and patented. My guess would be that many generator manufactures are competing on price, and may not think the cost of the technology is worth it, since people who want quality are going to go with a well know brand, and those who want cheap will go with cheap, the middle ground may not be a big market. But actually, a quick internet search shows a lot of inverter generators out there. |

Why do some manufacturers have engines in other cars? Question: Hi, I've noticed over the year that some car manufacturers are putting engines from other manufactures into their cars. How is this possible ,like how are they allowed to do that? Just recently I checked a Belgian Supercar with a Maserati engine and another manufacturer called Morgan with a BMW engine and some other manufacturers with AMG engines. I just don't understand. Isn't the engine the main part of the car? Answer: Some car company's have interests in other company's for research and development. This can be used to design there own trademark design of the body and use another manufactures engine for there expertise in power plants. Overall, what does it matter. A good example of this is Ford. They own Mazda, Jaguar, has interest in Mitsubishi and uses any or all of this in anything they make. Didn't.t see them asking for a government handout when the auto industry fell apart. |

Can you put CPU parts from other manufacturers inside a dell computer? Question: For instance if I wanted to put an OCZ Solid State drive or a western digital hard drive in my Dell and RAM from other manufacturers would it work? Answer: None of those are CPU parts, a CPU is just another name for the processor. a SSD will work with any machine and RAM will work with any motherboard designed for it. |

Is Inno3d gtx 460 1gb (stock speeds) good or should i wait for other manufacturers for their version? Question: The gtx 460 cards that are available in our place are the ones from Inno3d and Palit, and I chose the Inno3d one as my prospect. Should I buy it? Was my choice over the two wrong? Should I wait for other manufacturers like MSI, EVGA, etc for their versions? I think I might want to OC the card too. would it be ok? Answer: the inno3d should do but the msi gtx460 1gb will probably go just a little bit higher because of its cyclone cooler. another thing to consider is the warranty, u should check up on what the warranty is on these cards and also ready reviews and compare. |

How is the Fiat's quality compared to other manufacturers? Question: Now that Chrysler is being bought out by Fiat's car quality like compared to Honda, Toyota ? Answer: Actually mate, most if not all european manufacturers have much better built cars when compared to American ones. fiats are generally very lively cars. but the quality also depends on who makes the fiats. note that they are not always manufactured by fiat directly. compared to other manufacturers, well, if you mean the germans, actually the germans are the best in the world when in comes to cars, no doubt. remenber, Fiat is the company that owns Ferrari, maserati, Alfa-Romeo, Lancia etc. so you bet they're gonna be better. |

So should NASCAR force Ford & other manufacturers to submit new engine designs before the september deadline? Question: And why have they postponed approving the R07 engines for Chevy? Sorry treego, I failed to mention this question pertains to the Nationwide Series. In the Nationwide series Chevy is using the older SB2 blocks and NASCAR hasn't approved the new R07 engines yet. Thanks for making that point. Answer: Chevy has all season wanted to make the change, but Toyota and Nascar wouldn't allow their new engine to be used. JASCAR rules! How do generic pills from canadianmedsworld.org compare to originals or generics from other manufacturers? Question: I would like to buy some generic pills and canadianmedsworld.org appeals most to me because I'm from Canada and the prices are quite outstanding. What's the quality of their generic medicine? Answer: I'm not sure about "Canadian Meds World" but from my own experience, generics are the same medicine as "originals" but without the name. Some pharmaceutical companies sell a few types of medicine way too expensive even though the manufacturing costs are low. In this case, it's worth buying generics (my opinion!). How much does HP/Dell/other manufacturers pay for each copy of Windows Vista Home Premium? Question: I'm going to try to get a rebate, as I don't use Windows, when I buy my new computer. You wouldn't happen to know what the wholesale cost for the operating system is, would you? Thanks. PS Any advice on getting the refund for the operating system? Answer: It ranges. Of course manufacturers are never going to disclose that information. But it can be guesstimated by factoring in the cost of parts that they pay prices ranging between $50 or less for home basic and $130 or less for Vista Ultimate. You can look at a budget end system for 299 and factor in around 125 wholesale parts cost and labor cost of 10- 50 "depending on country of manufacture" shipping transport cost of 10-20 per unit. Now obviously I'm overestimating cost but you can see where I'm going in order for the low end system to make any profit the Operating system has to be a deeply discounted bulk rate. So factoring this in I figure Vista Home basic 30-50 Home premium 50-80 Vista Business 70-100 Vista Ultimate 80-130 As for getting rebates from a brand name manufacturer I can't say. What I can say is that if your installing your own operating system I would go custom build for 2 reasons. One its cheaper to get a barebone from Tiger direct or New Egg with a superior quality of parts than name brand systems. Two hardware compatibility I'm assuming that you plan on using open source for an operating system. With a custom build you can do your home work and get the parts with the best compatibility with the operating system your installing making for a more trouble free installation down the line. |
